The Hard Truth About Poultry Feed Quality in Haryana
56%
of poultry feed samples tested in Haryana exceed the BIS safe aflatoxin threshold of 20 ppb.
Aflatoxin is a harmful substance produced by fungus that grows in grain stored in poor conditions. By the time you notice your birds are growing slowly or falling ill, your entire investment for that cycle is already committed.
Research also shows that aflatoxin contamination reduces feed efficiency by up to 10.8%. In practical terms: for every 10 bags of contaminated feed you buy, almost one full bag is completely wasted - paid for, but doing nothing useful.
Fortune Poultry Feeds addresses this problem at a system level - not just with one check, but with three layers of protection built into the process.
It is completely invisible - you cannot see it in the feed
It has no smell - your birds cannot avoid it
It does not get destroyed during manufacturing or pelleting - it survives the process
It starts damaging your birds from Day 1 - but the effects don't show until Day 15 to 20

Independently Certified
ISO 9001:2015 - Our Quality System, Independently Certified
It means our manufacturing process - from raw material intake to final packaging - has been reviewed, documented, and approved by an independent, internationally recognised body. Not a local certificate we bought. Not a plaque on our wall. A system that is audited annually and must be renewed.
Every claim we make about our process is backed by this certification.

System-Level Quality Control
How Fortune Keeps Every Batch Safe - Three Layers, Not One
Most mills do one check, if any. Fortune uses three layers:
01
Layer 1 - Raw Material Screening at Intake
Before any ingredient enters our factory, it is tested. Maize - the primary ingredient in all our feeds - is screened for aflatoxin at intake. Any batch of maize that fails does not enter production. This happens before manufacturing even starts. Soybean-oil-meal is tested for urease activity. High urease means poor protein digestibility - which means your birds are not getting the protein you are paying for. Amino acids are lab-verified for concentration. Underdosed amino acids cause poor muscle growth and reduced egg production.
02
Layer 2 - Safety Binders Built Into Every Formulation
Even after raw material screening, Fortune adds Clinoptilolite-based safety binders into every batch formulation. Clinoptilolite is a natural mineral that binds to aflatoxin molecules in the bird's gut - preventing absorption before it can cause damage. This is a second line of defence, working inside the bird even if trace amounts of aflatoxin pass through screening. This ingredient is not optional. It is in every batch, every time.
03
Layer 3 - Finished Batch Lab Test Before Dispatch
After manufacturing is complete - after pelleting, after cooling - the finished batch is tested in our lab before it is loaded for delivery. Two parameters are checked on every finished batch: nutrition value (protein percentage, metabolisable energy, amino acid concentration) and safety levels (aflatoxin within safe limits). If a batch fails either test, it is not dispatched. Not delayed. Not reworked without re-testing. It does not leave our factory. This is Fortune's policy. No exceptions.

What is Actually in Fortune Feed - The Numbers
Broiler Feed
| Phase | Protein | Energy (ME) | Key Additions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pre-Starter (Day 0-10) | ~23% | 3,000-3,200 kcal/kg | Probiotics, Lysine, Methionine |
| Starter (Day 10-24) | 21-22% | 3,000-3,200 kcal/kg | Safety binders, Phytase enzyme |
| Finisher (Day 24-38) | 18-20% | 3,100-3,200 kcal/kg | Energy-dense for carcass weight |
Layer Feed
| Nutrient | Fortune Standard | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
| Calcium | 3.5-4% | Shell strength and bone health |
| Vitamin D3 | Included | Calcium absorption - without D3, calcium does not work |
| Crude Protein | Phase appropriate | Egg production and albumin quality |
| Amino Acids | Lab-verified | Laying persistence and egg quality |

Quality Feed Delivers Better FCR - Here is the Data
The connection between feed quality and FCR is direct. When a bird's gut is healthy, when there are no harmful substances suppressing immunity, when nutrition is at the right level for each growth phase - the bird converts feed into weight efficiently. Compromised feed = poor FCR. Clean, tested feed = better FCR.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
01What is Fortune Poultry Feeds' quality certification?
Fortune Poultry Feeds is ISO 9001:2015 certified - Certificate No. QMS/25M0135 - issued by MQA Certification Services (UKAF accredited, UK). The certification covers processing, packaging, warehousing, and supply of animal feed. Valid February 2025 to February 2028.
02How does Fortune keep its feed safe when 56% of Haryana feed is not?
Fortune uses three layers of protection: raw material screening at intake (maize tested for aflatoxin before entering production), Clinoptilolite safety binders built into every formulation, and a finished batch lab test before dispatch. A batch that fails the final test is not released - no exceptions.
03What nutritional specs does Fortune broiler feed have?
Pre-Starter contains approximately 23% protein and 3,000-3,200 kcal/kg metabolisable energy. Starter phase has 21-22% protein. Finisher has 18-20% protein with 3,100-3,200 kcal/kg. Layer feed contains 3.5-4% calcium and Vitamin D3 for shell strength.
04What is Fortune's target FCR for broiler feed?
Fortune broiler feed targets an FCR of 1.50 to 1.55, against an industry average of 1.70 to 1.80. Layer feed targets FCR 2.1 to 2.3, against an average of 2.5 to 2.8.
05Why is Fortune's feed different from other local mills in Haryana?
Most unorganised local mills in Haryana do not conduct regular lab testing and have no raw material screening process. Research shows 56% of Haryana feed samples exceed safe aflatoxin limits. Fortune has an ISO 9001:2015 certified process, tests every batch for both nutrition and safety, and uses safety binders in every formulation - making it the only locally-manufactured feed in the area with this level of documented quality control.
